Eugene Kwame Marfo known in the music circles as Kuami Eugene is a young talented musician who has already shown traces of being a big music icon. Placing third in music talent show ‘MTN HITMAKER’ was the perfect platform to exhibit his talent and add to his music credentials.
The same show also gave him the opportunity to be discovered by the legendary music producer, singer and manager Richie Mensah (C.E.O of Lynx Ghana Limited) who without any shadow of doubt quickly signed him to his record label Lynx Entertainment.
His passion for music has led him to write and produce for a number of award-winning artistes as well as collaborate on several hit songs including Rewind (with MzVee), Kwani Kwani Pt2 (with Tic), Killing Me Softly (with Adina) and Adwenfi (with DJ Vyrusky and Shatta Wale). He has also featured on songs with artists such as; Sarkodie, KiDi, Shatta Wale, Samini, Adina, Davido, Jupitar and many more. He also collaborated on a song with American television host and comedian, Conan O’Brien.
Kuami Eugene has received many awards and award nominations in his young career, with some of the most notable being; the Unsung Artist at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards, the “New Artist of the Year” at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards and the Ghana Music Awards UK, ‘Highlife Artiste of the Year’ at the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Ghana Music Awards, ‘Most Promising Artiste in Africa’ at the 2018 AFRIMA awards, ‘Producer of the Year’ and ‘Album of the Year’ at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards, ‘Highlife Song of the Year’ and ‘Highlife Artist of the Year’ at Ghana Music Awards UK 2019. He also won ‘Highlife Song of the Year’ and ‘Highlife Act of the Year’ at 3 Music Awards 2019 and the ‘Artiste of the Year’ at the 2020 Ghana Music Awards.
Kuami Eugene has certainly proven himself to be one of the leaders of the new school of Ghanaian highlife/afro beats music.
